  1. The Senate starts out with a prayer and the pledge of allegiance just like the HOR. the prayer was led by reverend from delaware. Then every body sits down and the majority leader introduces the senator from Delaware. he starts talking about the church. i then skipped into one hour into the video and senator Jim Risch from Idaho was talking about the national security of this country. The senate chamber does not really look like the HOR chamber i feel like the senate chamber is more open where like the HOR chamber was not

  2. The Senate and House of Rep both started off their sessions with a prayer and pledge. I did notice that Sen. Christopher Coons from Delaware thanked the Rev. for all he has done in Delaware. Both sessions also let each Senator get a certain amount of time to speak. Sen. Suasan Collins from Maine spoke about federal agencies working on 2700 new rules. She also said if they want people to go back to work, the red tape that is strangling them should be cut. Sen. John Boozman from Arkansas spoke about the lack of leadership. He pointed out the unemployment rate and how Washington stopped the hiring process. The senate chamber looks a bit smaller than the House of Rep chamber.

  3. Both the Senate and House of Representatives sessions began with a prayer, and it was followed by the pledge. For the most part, everything is almost identical. They both discussed the war in the Middle East, and each speaker was given a certain amount of time to state their opinion. There was democrats and republicans. In addition, some of the topics highlighted within the Senate meeting were: federal spending, judicial nominations, and democratic leadership. These ideas revolved around fixing our nation's economy and in a sense becoming more independent from other countries (energy and gas).

  4. Started w a prayer from guest Chaplin as well as the pledge. Took place on September 20, 2012. Each speaker gets a certain amount of time to talk just like the House of Representative speakers do. The setting resembles the house of reps by the way it is set up. Feel like the House of Representatives setup is much nicer than the senates. They want to turn the economy around. Many speakers talk about Obama.

  5. Both the Senate and House of Representatives start their sessions with a prayer and the pledge. Each member also has a set time, as does the members of the House of Reps.. Senator Lamar Alexander of Tennessee brings to mention our budget problem, as does Senator Kent Conrad. The Senates main focuses seem to be federal spending, becoming more independent, and President Obama

  6. they both start off with a prayer. they both give people time limits when its their turn to speak. i skipped to about 3 hours in and senator manchin is talking about all the budget cuts in the country and the armed forces. the house of representatives chamber looked bigger than the senate chamber.

  7. The chair is Tom Udol, and the President pro tempore is Daniel Inouye. Senator John Thune says that Democrats have failed to provide the leadership the country needs to form a stronger middle class. Senator Alexander Lamar says that they need a change in behavior, mentioning the budget. The desks in the room were arranged in a semi-circle, and it seems to have more room than the house of representative's chamber.

  8. The Senate starts with a prayer by the reverend, like The House of Reps did. Both are given time limits when speaking. The House of Representatives looked more like it was in a courtroom whereas I don't think this room looked like one. They discussed things like the toxins in the oceans. They feel like we need a stronger middle class. It seems to me that they were almost in a circle and there was a lot more room than there was in the House of Reps. The Senator from Indiana talked about cyber security and homeland security.

  9. The room of the Senate and the room of the House of Representatives are very different. In the room of the Senate the vice president speaks and is in charge, also everything is level and there are two sides separating people in the room. But, In the room of the House of Representatives the speaker of the House looks down on everyone. The speaker of the house leads and is in charge of everyone speaking. He chooses when someone can give their opinion.

  10. Senate starts session with a prayer led by the reverend and after that each member was able to speak for a short time. During this session, the vice president is usually the one in charge and has power over the senate. In the house of rep. the speaker is in charge and sits higher than everyone else. They were both similar, but the house of representatives looked more like a court set up and the senate just looked like an average council room

  11. both the Senate and the House of Representatives come off as near identical from beginning with the prayer and pledge, to the form of speaking. Both members of senate and the house of rep. the representatives are given a limited amount of time to speak. The session is usually led by the Vice President but also has a following line of leaders to sit in upon his absence. The major difference was the layout of the houses. With different seating and location of speakers and those of higher representation, the sessions spoke in partial order from both sides in a different pattern from each of the households. Though both covered similar topics and discussed their opinions and standpoints as representation of their party.

  12. Watching the video of the senate is sort of similar to the hor its a very very long meeting which is sort of boring. The vice president is head of the senate and he appoints people when to speak. There are both parties on either side the Democrats and Republicans and they all talk about helping Americans and trying to bring back the country to the way it was as.

  13. They both start off with the pledge of allegiance and prayer, and was given a certain amount of time to speak. There were also democrats and republicans. They had similar topics like the war in the Middle East. The difference is how they set up their houses for example the HOR looks more official and bigger than the Senate. Senate spoke about cyber security, national security and homeland security.

  14. In both of the videos they strat off with a prayer. A reverand is always the one leading in prayer. Then the pledge of allegiance is said. All of the people were given a specific amount of time to talk. There were different political members there, Democrats and Republicans. They talked about different topics. One major similarity they talked about were the issues in the Middle East and how to help the American people and how to fix the country. The House of Reps was set up like a court room and the Senate is set up more like a circle.

  15. Both senate and house of representatives start out with a prayer as always and the pledge of allegiance. The video is veery similar in many ways. Everyone gets a time limit to speak to maintain order. The speaker is in charge of everyone speaking. Many were talking about our current president Barack Obama.

  16. This video makes us understand what an adverse day in senate is like. This meeting is very long, and during this meeting the senators make it known that it is their goal to help the americans. they also come and talk about ideas regarding bills. The Vice President is the head of Senate. The president of senate takes charge when the vice president is not present. In the Senate the members are facing the speaker where in the House they sit beneath him.

  19. A Prayer and the Pledge of Allegence is said at the begining. Many areas were discussed durring the meeting and each Senate person had one minute each to speek. I watch about 45 minutes of this and it was really bouring, somewhat interesting but pretty much boring. The space seemed more open.

  20. Both the Senate and The House of Representatives started with a prayer and the pledge. Both the democrats and republicans had a certain amount of time to talk. In the Senate the vice president is in charge and in The House of Representatives the speaker of the house is in charge. The speakers mostly talked about the same topics, the Middle East and the president.

  21. The senate seems to be very similar to the House of Reps. Each person is allotted time to speak and if they want they can designate some of their time to another person to speak on behalf of an issue, which i find interesting. Like the house of reps, the goings on in senate is basically the same, they speak about issues that they care about or need to address. In both videos the representatives' ideas always come down to fixing our nation as a whole.

  22. A day in the Senate clearly is very long and eventful. The way the Senate meetings run is by 'The President" calling on Representatives to speak on the matter at hand. The Senate house is similar to the House of Representatives, yet there is of course much less members speaking then The House. The speakers take turns after being called on by the President who sits on top of the associates. The speakers also say what state they represent before they speak, which is interesting.

  23. Senate is like the house of representatives. There both very long days. They start off the same by a prayer and pledge. Each person in senate is given a certain amount of time to talk just like in the house of representatives.

  24. The Senate is very much like the House of Representatives. Both began with the prayer and a pledge and continued with speaking about issues and how they would be solved to better our country. Just as in the House of Reps, each person in Senate speaks for the specific amount of time given to him/her. The only major difference between the 2 is the person in charge. The head of the Senate is the Vice President while the Speaker of the House is the head of the House of Representatives.

  25. The Senate is very similar to the House of Representatives , they both have the pledge and pray in the beginning of everything . Like the House of Representatives each person gets a certain amount of time to talk about issues and concerns. the senate was just as long as the House of Representatives and just as boring.

  27. In both of the videos, the session began with a prayer and pledge. The senate is ran by the Vice President unlike the house of Representatives, which is ran by the Speaker of the House. The senate is similar to the House of Representatives that each senate got a chance to speak about their ideas or issues. Both of the videos talked about similar topics like problems in the middle east, our president, federal spending and judical nomination.

  28. The Senate and the HOR are both very similar. Both seem to be very well organized and every one has equal time to talk and express their opinions. It is nothing like what occurs in PArliment over in Great Brittain.
