Republican Peter King

House Civil War

  1. First, the video/article about Republican Peter King portrayed his leadership to take the risk of abandoning his own party in order to do what is "right." Apparently, the Republican Party did not support the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Now, there is a relief bill put into action.
In addition, among others, Chris Christie has the determination to convince the House to give $60 billion to hurricane victims. He intelligently points out that this is not an issue of political party differences, but a problem with being humane and understanding. Since, I live in Rockaway, I am shocked to see that the House did not pass this bill. We deserve to get this money and everyone who was affected should be treated the same way.

  2. Peter King spoke about how when other places needed help, he voted quickly. Yet when it comes to New York, who helps raise funds for the republicans, they refuse to vote. John Boehner walked off the floor without allowing a vote. Chris Christie blames Boehner for the inability to help. Michael Grimm thought Boehner's actions and the fact that people who are going to end up losing their businesses have to wait another two weeks for a vote is inexcusable.

  3. Basically, Peter King wants to help the hurricane victims but his fellow party members do not agree. Mr. King is still going to try and help the hurricane victims even though the Republican party does not think they should.
Chris Christie is trying to make the Republican party give $60 billion to the hurricane victims. Christie is not trying to make a controversy between the parties but he is trying to show the lack of concern that the Republicans have towards the hurricane victims. Chris Christie just wants them to be understanding of the situation.

  4. Republican king Peter wants to help the victims of hurricane sandy but his party does not agree. He is going against ten for there failure to pass senates package that states that $60 billion would be given in relief to the hurricane victims. He says anyone who gives them a penny should get there head checked because they don't deserve it and that thy are going to get a hard time getting his vote. He also said that since he is going against them he is goin to be independent minded.
Chris Christie and boehner says that they are disappointing and disgusting that they will not fund for sandy relief. He issued a joint statement saying that people are suffering families are out of their homes and men and women remain jobless and are struggling through these harsh winter months.

  5. After Hurricane Sandy destroyed everything King Peter of the Republican party voted when every affected needed help. Now he is outraged at his own party does not want to help them. King Peter still wants to try and help. Chris Christie is trying to get the Republican Party to give $60 million to the all victims of the hurricane. He wants them to be understanding about the victims and what damage came about from this hurricane.

  6. Despite that the hurricane occurred over 2 months ago, the victims of Sandy have yet to be reimbursed by the government for the damages to their homes. Republican Peter King states the reason behind this is because the majority of the republican party is against passing the senates package. Despite their different views from their party, both Peter King and Chris Christie plan to pursue the passing of the package which would give 60 billion dollars to those effected by Sandy.

  7. Peter King and Chris Christie are attacking the GOP and the speaker of the house because of the lack of vehemence that is shown towards the relief funds for the people suffering and who need government aid at the moment because of hurricane sandy. They both clearly expressed that there's no reason to delay any of this because this is about the people, not politics, but they and other politicians make it clear that the politics of the situation is the only thing that the speaker seems to care about. Chris Christie and Peter King just want to help their constituents who are suffering, and if it means attacking a party and the speaker of the house then so be it because they are dead set on receiving the aid the people need.

  8. As i watched the video of the Republican King peter i started to agree with him. He is the definition of a real republican. He actually wants to help the people of hurricane sandy and the other republicans dont even care. In his interview he says "turning your back on people who are starving and freezing is not a Republican value." In the other video Chris Christie is trying to help the people of hurricane sandy.

  9. After all this time, victims of hurricane sandy are still affected and struggling. Republican Peter King is being a human being with a heart who wants to help. However, the Republican Party is opposing the senate's package which would give 60 billion dollars to the victims. Peter King surprisingly went against his own party because he knows what's right. He, along with Chris Christie, wants to help those people with the Senate's package. I think Peter King is showing that you never have to be tied down to anything, you are independent, always.

  10. people continue to suffer losses from hurricane sandy. peter king speaks out against the republican party because he thinks they are being selfish and not taking the time to consider the people who desperately need help to get their lives and families on track again. chris christie also speaks out against their actions. they want to see their plan to give $60 billion to sandy victims take action even when their own political parties are being wrong about the situation.

  11. The two videos about hurricane sandy funding shows how much our government cares toward this situation. The government isn't giving efficient funds to help the people in need. Congress members refuse to agree with Peter Kings plan to help the victims of hurricane sandy. Chris Christie is just trying to show that the rebulican party doesn't really have a concern for the relief of hurricane sandy.

  12. Both videos show how much some of our country cares about the people, the ones who were victims of hurricane sandy. Both Chris Christie and Peter King raise awareness that the Republican party doesn't care about the people affected by hurricane sandy. I applaud them both!

  13. It has been weeks that people are still affected by Hurricane Sandy, struggling to get their lives back to the normal. Republican Peter King is getting to understand what the victims have been through. The Republican Party refuses to give 60 billion dollars to the victims in order to help them rebuild. Peter King even went against his own party. He's trying to prove a point. Chris Christie also wants the Senate's package to help those affected. Personally I think these Republicans are forgetting who put them in office. It's wrong what they are doing, they are making the process more difficult than what it. is.

  14. I think Peter King and Chris Christie are doing a great job trying to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Even though they are both Republicans they are trying to help the people affected unlike most of the Republicans that don't care enough to help.

  15. It's been nearly two months since the hurricane and many neighborhoods are still suffering from the effects of it. I think both Chris Christie and Peter King understand that and they are doing the best they can to help the families that are still effected by the storm but they can only do so much.

  16. Watching the video of the Republican Peter King I began to agree with him more and more. Him and Chris Christie have been doing everything in their power to help the victims of Superstorm Sandy. There is only so much that they can do to help these victims, but they are trying everything they can to do the best.

  17. As Peter King stated "Turning your back on people who are starving and freezing is not a Republican value", he is for helping the hurricane victimes, and some of his republican members are not, especially those from New York. Chris Christie has been helping out as well and raising money.

  18. It is shocking to see that some people do not want to help these victims. Peter King a republican by the way seemed to not be able to understand it either. He does not agree with his parties vote to not fund the victims of hurricane Sandy. He is someone I think people can now count on because just because he belongs to a certain party he sees both sides.

  19. Both videos are about hurricane sandy funding and how all the money people donated for people affected is not being used and the house of representatives did not pass the bill for $60million to help these people. Gov. Chris Christie is very smart and obviously concerned for people who were not only affected in his state of New Jersey but also for the people affected in New York.

  21. Both videos show great opinion and reaction towards the hurricane sandy. It is showing that not all of the funds intended to support those effected is being used, or being used in favor of the victims of the storm. It also shows that the government, specifically the house of representatives do not see the need to support the damaged citizens of the countries lives by financially supporting them. This is shown through the denied bill of a large sum of money that was put to vote to be given to the victims. Governor Chris Christie shows his reaction to the denied bill and seems very discouraged and upset with the outcome and lack of sympathy that the government has for the people of the tri-state area.

  22. Huricanne Sandy was weeks ago but many people are still suffering from it. Peter King is a republician congressman that went against members of his own party for failing to pass a Senate package that would provide $60 billion in relief to victims of Hurricane Sandy. He stated "People in my party, they wonder why they're becoming a minority party." Govenor Chris Christie also agrees with King. He is ashamed of the lack of sympathy the government has for the victums of the hurricane. They refuse to support them financially.

First, the video and article about Peter King showed his leadership to take the risk of abandoning his own party to stand for what he trruly beleived in.the Now, there is a relief bill put into action. and even among others, Chris Christie has the determination to convince the House to give $60 billion to hurricane victims. but a problem with being humane and understanding. Since, I habe family and friends that licve in rockaway and gerritsen beach i was flawed to see most of the Houses did not pass this bill beacuse they honestly had so much damage it was un believable. all victiams deserve to get this money and everyone who was affected should be treated the same waybecause so many people lost everything and we just need to help them get back to normal.

  24. Both videos are on how Hurricane Sandy devestated people on the east coast and how the governemtn does not want to fund the relief. I think it is unfair because New Orleans got all the treatment they needed back with Hurricane KAtrina, I do not see why we do not deserve the same treatment.

  25. Hurricane Sandy was disruting congress. At first, one republican said that member of Senate were a bunch of "sleep-deprived octogenarians." Then the speaker of the house cursed at that republican. And now other members of Congress from affected areas are rebelling against congress for not passing a 60 million dollar fund for Sandy victums. This is making the republican party look extremely bad and anyone from New York and New JErsey who wants them in office should think otherwise.

  27. Both videos are about Hurricane Sandy survives will not receive relief from Congress. Shows us that most of politicians are there just to steal our money and they are only good for corruption. When Congress can't give money to help fellow Americans. You know DC is corrupt and not looking out for Hurricane Sandy survives.
