one view that he has that i agree with is his position on tax raises, he feels that raising taxes won't help anything except make more problems and i agree because the working class shouldn't get tax raises because they are the ones that need their money the most.

  2. Congressmen Gregory W. Meeks sits on two important committees in the House. They are the Financial Services Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee. The Financial Services Committee oversees all components of the nations housing and financial services sectors including banking, insurance, real estate, public, and assisted housing and securities. The Committee reviews the laws and programs relating to the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Federal Reserve Banks, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and international development and fin ace agencies such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. Gregory Meeks serves as a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Congressmen seeks to promote policies that strengthen Americas economic and nation security and build relationships with other nations in a more globalized world. Gregory Meeks believes that to maintain strong communities and Americas global influence, then American must in vet in its future by making public schools stronger. This is one view I agree with. Public schools in my opinion do not give the right education students should get. I was a public school student from K-8 and it is very different compared to catholic school. Congressmen wants to improve the graduation rates of urban, minority youth. All schools should get the same education.

  3. Bob Turner grew up in Woodhaven and Richmond Hill in Queens. He attended St. Thomas The Apostle School in Woodhaven and Richmond Hill High School. He served in the Army at the rank of SP5, then graduated from St. John's University in Hillcrest with a B.A. in history, after working his way through college. As a college student, he took part in the conservative activist group Young Americans for Freedom. He was motivated to join politics because of his opposition to the health care bill. I agree with the situtation of the health care bill. Being that Bob Turner is a republican, he thinks that it is not fair that people should have to pay more money for people who cant afford health care. Everyone has the right to have health care and it should be there for them if they cant afford it but others should not have to take money out of their pocket to supply it for them.

  4. Bob Turner, representative of the 9th district, was born and raised in Woodhaven. Bob attended St. John's University earning a B.A in history, putting himself through school by working at the local grocery store. After graduating college, he served his country in the Army. He started his first media company, Orbis Communications, in 1984, representing some of the largest media entertainment companies in the country. He also serves on the Veterans, Foreign Affairs, and Homeland Security committees.

Bob Turner is a strong opponent of tax hikes on small businesses and working Americans. In July, Bob Turner met with small business owners regarding tax hikes, looking to see how a rise in taxes would affect themselves and their workers.

He attended St Thomas The Apostle School in Wood haven then made his way to St Johns University. He does not agree with Obama's Health care plan . 7. Edolphus Towns, Jr. (born July 21, 1934) is the U.S. Representative for New York's 10th Congressional district and have been serving since 1983. He is a member of the Democratic Party. The district is based in Brooklyn and includes the communities of Fort Greene, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brownsville, Mill Basin, Cypress Hills, East New York and Canarsie. He earned his bachelor's degree from North Carolina A&T State University and a master's degree in social work from Adelphi University.
Towns worked as an administrator at Beth Israel Medical Center, a professor at New York's Medgar Evers College and Fordham University and a public school teacher, teaching orientation and mobility to blind students. He is also a veteran of the United States Army and an ordained Baptist minister.

An issue that concerns me is innocent people getting killed and Towns believes that there is little hope of escape but wants the environment to be safe for everyone. Even though there is little hope of it happening, Towns want to put this to an end especially with black males because of the Trayvon Martin case.

  11. Rep. Robert L. Turner was previously elected in a special election to replace Rep. Anthony D. Weiner on September 13, 2011. He was the first Republican since the 1920’s to be elected to the seat. Bob spent his career starting and building companies of all sizes that created job opportunities around the world. He started his first media company, Orbis Communications, in 1984 and continued serving in leadership positions- including Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President- for some of the largest media entertainment companies in the country until his retirement in 2003. He believes that by adopting a pro business philosophy based on a reduction of government spending and the elimination of growth killing taxes our economy will get back on track leading to future growth and prosperity. I agree with Bob Turner. Cutting taxes and reducing government spending will help our nation's future.

  12. Since 1983, Edolphus Towns is the U.S. Representative for New York's 10th congressional district. He is a member of the Democratic Party. The area's that Representative Town oversees are, Brookly, communities of Fort Greene, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brownsville, Mill Basin, Cypress Hills, East New York and Canarsie. He had previously served as the former Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Towns had attended North Carolina A&T State University and Adelphi University, earning both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree.
Edolphus Towns does not have a positive reputation in his career lifetime. In 1992, Towns was named in the the House banking scandal, having written 408 checks on an overdrawn bank account. Negative actions are seen also in November of the year 2000, Towns had requested the White House to "declare India a terrorist state" because of "the pattern of Indian terrorism against its minorities." It is also reported that Towns had skipped several local Democratic club meetings, and his campaign Website has not been updated since 2011.

An issue that concerns me is that this particular representative had personally leased one of the highest costs of a tax payer financed car in congress. This shows sign of possible abuse of power and misuse of tax payer money. Though it is towards a hybrid vehicle, the cost is outstanding and ranks up as one of the most expensive cars to be purchased in congress with the people's money. It seems Towns is freely spending money that is not his with little care for what is truly neccessary. This expensive lease along with his negative history seems to show that he is unfit for representation in congress, but comments also seem to show that his election and campaign is near invisible leaving his numerous terms questionable as to why he continuously wins with such alligations.

An issue that concerns me is that he has been capable of winning over and over all these years but he has a bad reputation for what he does. He has been known for such negativce actions such as writting checks on an overdrawn banck account. Another mistake he made currently was leasing a Mercury Milan Hybrid at a cost of $1,285 per month. This is one of the highest costs of a tax payer financed cars leased in congress. When the two-year lease is completed the cost will exceed $30,000 as opposed to the $28,180 cost if it was bought new. He has no regard on how to spend money that comes from tax payers. He shouldn't be winning if he's such a negative impact on District 10.
