DON'T FORGET TO STUDY THE PREAMBLE OF THE CONSTITUTION!
I found these videos very entertaining, mostly because of how much arguing went on. There was a lot of mudslinging in both videos and I loved the reactions from the people watching. I think they had some pretty good points and it was amusing how they argued with each other and tried to prove each other wrong.
ReplyDeleteI found this forum of debate to be interesting. Both parties brought up really good points, however, some questions went unanswered which is probably due to the loud arguing and laughter. I think this conversation would have benefitted from more control exerted by the 'Speaker.'
ReplyDeleteI found the British debate to be very entertaining. I believe the 1st video was more interesting because Cameron sort of made it as if it was a joke to him, but Brown was very serious and more competitive. I thought that Brown had better political ideas for the legislative program for a stronger Britain. Brown said he would build 3 million more homes, progress in health, social care, and transportation in order to make Britain better and stronger. I found the 2nd video to be dragged out and a little boring but them yelling at each other made it a little more entertaining.
ReplyDeleteThese British debate videos are very exciting and more lively than American debates. Although, common issues were brought up, such as: health care, education, and homes; the audience made it almost impossible for the candidates to get their point across because of all the argumentation and yelling. As you can see, the debates were very entertaining and filled with humor from each candidate; but at the same time, Brown and Cameron did face obstacles trying to get their ideas across in a powerful way.

These British debates are so different compared to American debates. These debates were funny and actually more interesting. The people seemed more loose about talking about specific topis but they knew when to be serious. In American debates everyone is so uptight. During the British debate they made jokes but both parties had their ideas on how to make the country better such as building more homes, improving the healthcare system and how to make education better. During the debate the parties weren't able to fully get their points across because of the yelling but at least they have the right ideas to making improvements in Britain.
ReplyDeleteI think it was immature of the people to be laughing and screaming over each other. The candidates could barley say what they wanted too. To me, Cameron did not take this debate seriously because all he did was make jokes. Brown on the other hand at very good points to make Britain stronger. A big debate was the healthcare system on both sides. This video was a strong debate because the whole point is to argue back and forth about what they can do to help Britain. The second video to me was a little boring and their arguments weren't as strong as the first video.
ReplyDeleteThe debate kept me interseted. It was quite funny but immature of these grown adults acting like animals and making weird noises and screaming at each other but you can see how compassionate they are about what they are saying on their part. Sometimes they are too excitded and talk over the judge and cut him and each other off. The Britsh Parliment debate was far more different fom an American debate. Britian was more interested and less boring than America.
ReplyDeleteI personally though that these debates were a lot more entertaining and interesting than American debates. There is everyone just yelling and laughing at all times. Those debating aren't holding back at all. They were going at each other and using a lot of mudslinging. They would call each other out and then try to justify their actions and decisions. There really wasn't any order inthe court room. People were screaming as the debate was going on and people were talking. I thought it was very strange.

While watching these videos I couldn't help but laugh. Rather then taking there position seriously, there job of being in parliament is almost treated like a joke to some of these people. Rather then giving the opposing side a chance to talk and express their opinion, they are screamed and laughed at. I've always looked at American politics as being ridicules, but this has changed after watching the British parliament "debate issues".
ReplyDeleteThe debates kept me entertained, but after a while it started to bother me that they had to repeat themselves to be heard over the yelling. They looked like a bunch of children who got into a fight on a playground, pointing and yelling at each other the way that they were. Prime Minister Gordon Brown seemed to be more concerned about the issues, while Cameron was just making jokes. Some points did get across, but not with out some yelling. It was way more entertaining than the American debates, and the fact that grown men and women acted like children was hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThe debates were quite interesting. Many questions were not answered because of the amount of arguing and laughter. Overall these debates kept me entertained because of the constant arguing from these people. Some very important points were made, but I think more would have been made if there wasn't so much arguing and immaturity.
ReplyDeleteit was weird to see that there was no order at all and the judge has no control over the people. they were joking about alot of problems they were talking about and laughing. watching them yell at eachother is really funny and very immature. its so different from how people from the US act in the courts.
ReplyDeleteWatching this debate I observed that there is no order or self control during their speeches.I was very entertained because the noise level was ridiculous and they were bickering like teenage girls. They did have good points during there speeches. For example, health care, education and building more homes.
ReplyDeleteWatching the two videos kind of annoyed me. The debate was just like a bunch of little kids. When someone wanted to talk they'd have to repeat themselves constantly and they just kept laughing and booing. The judge didn't even do anything about it he let them just laugh and boo him. The side that kept laughing didn't give any straight answers either they just made jokes. The second video made me laugh when the man said "they just keep laughing", he finally pointed it out. I found it interesting to watch though
ReplyDeleteThis was strange to watch. Usually in court, there is always order. The crowd in the back isn't so involved, and the judge definitely has more control in the room. I think for professional matters, there should be order and not so much chaos. Things don't get done correctly or as well as they should be done with so much noise and hoopla. It's crazy to see how nothing has been done to change the ways of the British Parliament
ReplyDeletethe debates were funny because everyone gets involved and talks over each other. congress is boring compared to this. the parliament barely has order and it isnt put together well. its kind of all over the place but its pretty entertaining to watch them argue and get loud
ReplyDeleteDuring the Cameron v.s Brown debate i noticed a caption on the bottom saying "Cameron good with jokes, bad with politics", I thought this was funny because the way they were arguing was comical. The thing i found most odd was the way there was so much "boo-ing" and comments coming from the audience in both videos. You'll never see that in an American court. The lack of order was weird.
ReplyDeleteThe debates were different in a way that they seemed to be done so much differently, but in the same idea and way of making in outcome for a decision. Congress makes much more mature and calm ways of decisions, but Parliament seems to take their debates back to an older way of making decisions, with traditions and slight use of violence.
ReplyDeleteThe British Parliament is just like little kids going back and forth. It's not annoying but it is also not that much pleasant to watch. Everyone puts their two cents in when they are not even asked. There is no order like there should be. It seems sad that these grown folks can't just simmer down and let one person talk and keep thoughts to themselves unless they are asked to speak. I just can't take these people seriously.
ReplyDeleteI think that nrotish debates are way more interesting than american debates. American debates are not interesting because to mee they sound so dull and it makes me bored. Te british debates are funny and stupid at the same time because the people laugh and scream all at once and the camdidates could not be heard over them.
ReplyDeleteAfter I watched the two British Parliament videos I thought how childish the debates were. These debates reminded me of debates at school lunch where the majority laugh and boo if they hear something they don't like from their opponent. How are the British politicians suppose to be taken serious if their making inappropriate jokes during debates on their government?
ReplyDeleteAfter watching the two videos I felt that it was a lot more amusing to watch than an American debate but I feel that I would not want that debate happening in my country. It seemed almost as if they were not taking it seiously. And given the power that they have, I feel like that is a major problem.
ReplyDeleteI felt like these debates were not taken seriously. Every time someone would speak they would be interrupted in a few minutes. There was no order and everyone was booing each other. They also joked in ways that if It happened in an American court it would be stopped immediately. There were some good points brought up but they all weren't heard because of all the laughing going on in the audience.
ReplyDeleteashley ralston- i honesty died laughing at these debates, it makes our debates look so boring....but then again if we sat around screaming at eachother nothing would ever get done, even tho its so funny when hundreds of britsh men do it with thier accents. of corse tho when trying to solve the issues they were morew focused on controlling the crowd then stressing their ideas or atleast how i saw it but all in all it was both entertaining and intersusting to see how other countries do their debates much diffrent then ours.
ReplyDeleteAs im watching the "Brown Vs.Cameron" debate i was asking my self my self are they serious? or are they just joking?. The crowd gets so into the debate. Not going to lie it was actually pretty funny watching it. I thought at one point they were just going to have a fist fight. As on the other hand the British Parliament debate was serious. The crowd and the debaters were more respectful towards eachother. It was kind of boring to watch so i just skipped through the video.
ReplyDeleteP.S sorry for the late comment - Justin Manon
After watching these two videos I thought that the British debate was a lot more entertaining than the American debate. They were almost as if they were acting. The crowd was very involved and they were all talking over each other and constantly being interrupted. Our US Congress has way more order than British Parliament.

ReplyDeleteIf you actually listen to what the speakers are saying and don't just sit back and laugh at how excited everyone is, both speakers actually have good points and good ideas. I believe if they presented their ideas in ways other than yelling and making in fun of eachother, their points would be more effective. Also, there isn't enough control which is why the crowd gets involved also. In conclusion, watching these videos is a lot funner than watching US Congress.
Both videos were quite entertaining. I liked the way that both parties were arguning hard for what they believed. Most of it was funny, it was if it was a comdey show. Course the issues being discussed were serious by the way they went about it made it all seem like a joke. i think they could have found a better way to get there point across.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, both videos were actually entertaining. i love that both parties were debating and arguing in what they both believe that is right. although, it was funny; they made good points. they try to show a sense of humor.

ReplyDeleteI personally did not find these videos entertaining at all. There was no order and too much chaos. To me that seems like it might lead to a chaotic and unorganized government in general. They made jokes about ideas that are supposed to be taken seriously.
ReplyDeleteI did like though how Brown said he was going to help britain by making progress in health, building homes, and making better transportation systems to make Britain stronger.
I found these debates to be very obnoxious. There was no order and it was very chaotic. It seemed like people were going to jump out of their seats and it would be ok! I thought it was very immature for grown men to act that way. Yes, it was interesting to see a different form of how people debate other than our own country but I did not like it.
